New Relic gives developers, engineers, operations, and management a clear view of what’s happening in today’s complex software environments.
- Expanded and maintained the company's federated GraphQL API Platform, which serves 800,000 requests per minute to support the entire global product. The service has an average response time of 25ms and 100% uptime across a large, distributed cloud cell architecture.
- Increased API platform growth from 35 to 175 downstream services via automated service-to-service code generation and API linting.
- Designed and launched a stable, high-throughput Elixir service for controlling customer data retention.
- Took on technical leadership of a team when the previous lead departed, including implementing major features, writing technical design documents for future roadmap priorities, and onboarding new engineers.
- Mentored early career engineers across teams and technology stacks.
Opal is a collaboration platform, purpose built for brand marketing teams to produce, orchestrate and govern the brand marketing process.
- Designed and built an Elixir REST service for integrating with external publishing providers, including a Phoenix web layer and comprehensive testing with ExUnit.
- Developed a customer-facing API in Rails using Grape, the JSON API standard and RAML contracts.

- Created a related word service based on word distance using Python, Django, and Word2Vec.
- Used the Twilio API to build a phone conferencing service allowing customers to connect with freelance writers.
- Established a system enabling customers and editors to offer feedback to writers.
- Architected a notification system for user subscriptions and a daily digest for writers.
- Built an ORM reconciler which allowed Mongoid and ActiveRecord models to associate smoothly.
Perceptive Software was the software division of Lexmark Enterprises.
- Built an API-driven content management service from scratch using Rails 4.1 and MongoDB.
- Managed code deployment to EC2 instances using Capistrano.
- Enhanced video subtitle support in a Rails 3 rich media management application.
